Jaipur

PictureSnake Charmer
Jaipur - the Pink City
Part of the “Golden Triangle” of India (Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur), this capital and largest city of Rajasthan offers something for the tourist interested in history, architecture, elephant-riding, photography (of course), and above all else, shopping.

I loved wandering the narrow streets and alleys of the old city. Inside the tiny shops, one can find craftspeople making and selling colorful lac bangles, tons of gems & jewelry, bandhani tie-dye frabric, and intricate sari material. Visitors can tour the elaborate City Palace, take an elephant up to the Amber Fort, and gaze at the lake palace Jal Mahal. One of its most famous landmarks is the Hawa Mahal, or the "Palace of the Winds." On one of my visits, I visited the Anokhi Museum, where you can see fabulous block prints, and carvers in action.
